And the clock keeps ticking...

TWO more months until THE wedding!

Well, less than 2 months now...

I can't believe how much I still have to do.

It's official ... I am absolutely in love with these....

Officially Official

Things are rolling along slowly, but the pace is quickly picking up!

Today I received the phone call that I've been waiting for.

It went something like this:
Me: "hello?"
Lady: "Hi Nancy, it's Karen."
Me: "Karen??"
Lady: "Yeah, your dress is here."
Me: "huh?"
It took me a few seconds to realize that Karen was the lady who helped me with my wedding dress and she was telling me that MY wedding dress has arrived!!!

*squealing with excitement*

Sadly, even though my dress is ready for me, I am not ready for her. Those darn shoes are holding me up. Mef.

A girl's other best friend: shoes

I've been on the hunt for the perfect shoes- bridal shoes, that is.

The perfect one I found were these from Kate Spade:

The two inch heel is perfect. The bow is absolutely darling! And this shoe is WAY too cute! At a cost of $275, I'm not sure if it's worth the investment. No one will see my shoes and I'm not even sure if I will ever wear these babies again! Perhaps I can see these shoes in person and find out for myself. After all, I do have a 25% coupon. Even then, I'm not sure if $200 is worth the splurge either.

And then there's that part of me who wants to be daring and wear something more bold. Even though yellow isn't our color, I think these shoes are absolutely fabulous:

Aren't those shoes fabulous!!?! I would get them in a hot pink color, if possible. :) Word has it that these shoes only cost ~$15. Could it be too good to be true? *update* I found out the bride who got these shoes, actually got them from Ross! What a STEAL!!!

And then I'm sure every bride (in the best interest of comfort) thinks about flip flops/flats for their wedding dress. At least the tall ones anyway. I'm tempted to get these:
The price is affordable and plus, I have a gift card, which should cut the cost by about half. I can definitely see myself wearing these shoes again- especially during our honeymoon! But I've gotten a few frowns from friends and I'm sure my parents would look down upon it too. I do admit, it's not exactly traditional to wear flipflops under your wedding dress. But these aren't your normal flip flops, these are gold and blinged out! I think it's good enough for me!

I'm sure I will find the perfect shoes somehow. To tell you the truth, I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. I'm leaning towards something that has a low height, so I can be comfortable and look like I'm not towering over Mike. And depending on how much it ends up costing, I'd like to wear the shoe again. But definitely something that is budget friendly!

And so the search continues...

When in the event of pen failure...

No matter how many times you scribble to get the darn stubborn ink out, the pencil is always there to save you as long as there is lead.

By all means I should be studying, but this wedding planning seems to be much more appealing at the moment! Or...pretty much all the time!

It feels pretty incredible to be getting married to your best friend. We've only been engaged for over 5 months and dating for almost 5 years, but it feels like each day that passes by is even better knowing that I am going to be his future mrs. in a just few more months. The excitement is definitely rolling in. I have to admit, all this planning for this humungo party is stressful, but having Mike next to me makes it all the worthwhile. I am lucky to have him planning the wedding with me.

Just a few more things to do and we're almost done! Ok, maybe not. We actually need to speed it up a bit because the wedding will be in just 5 more months!!

The details are driving me nuts...

"Should I change my wedding dress to be ivory or white?!"

"Sage green and brown blend too much with our ceremony site and reception hall, let's change it to blue and orange!" A month later... "It's hard to match blue and orange, let's go with light daffodil yellow and brown!" And days later... "What if the yellow clashes with my ivory wedding dress?!?!" le sigh.

Sometimes in the midst of wedding planning, I tend to get sidetracked and lose sight of the more important things of getting married. In the end, all the little details of wedding planning turn out to be unimportant because frankly, people probably wouldn't even notice them. Initially these details didn't matter to me, but as time went on I began to focus more and more on them. It turns into something about what others feel/think and not how this is supposed to be a celebration of our marriage. I know it drives people nuts and I am forever grateful that my FI and friends all put up with it.

Here is a little something I found to help put things all back into perspective:

Sulla Tips

On a lighter note, my dress has been ordered and it is absolutely beautiful- very assymetrical and very me!! In the past, I couldn't quite grasp how some girls have a moment with a dress and know it's the one. Well, after having tried on a kajillion dresses, it finally happened to me! At that moment, it seemed like all time froze and I was in heaven. I can't wait for it to come in! :)
