Stop and Stare

Today marks the first day of the 2nd qtr of my 2nd year in pharmacy school. I feel so stressed out already. I love what I'm learning and I found myself today trying extra hard to stay awake during class so I can absorb as much info as possible [in other words, be the best 2nd year I can be]. At the same time, I'm trying to be extra well-rounded [so I can further my professional development; yes, I'm an overachiever]. And somehow all the burden in the world seems to fall into my lap. Or maybe things have finally started kicking me in the butt.

The president of the organization of which I am the vp of (all of which will remain anonymous) has decided to resign due to an unfortunate circumstance. This unfortunate circumstance seems to bring me much unforeseen responsibility because not only do I have to preside over a deserted position and call the shots, but I also am suddenly bestowed with 2 projects (none of which I was aware of) due at the end of the month. It irks me when people cop out. And it irks me even more because now I have to pull most of the weight, especially if direction was lacking in the first place. Hopefully I have a good team.

This wasn't quite what I had in mind for the first day back from winter break. I have a plan. Hope it won't backfire.

Here we go!

For a while, I lost all motivation to keep an online journal. I mean, come on, my last entry was back in March 2007 and making myself post that one was even difficult. The only thing that really pushed me to write that entry was my 3 year anniversary with Mike... for my memory's sake. And now for the rest of my life [I hope] I will remember what Mike and I did that day. We had a delicious dinner at Magianno's and watched Wicked. It's sad to know that after that day, I stopped posting and whenever I want to recollect anything, I have trouble doing it because I left no real evidence behind. Pictures are great, but over time, I have the tendency to forget its significance. Either that or I have to think real hard to remember. So maybe I have found my motivation now- b/c it's actually nice and heartwarming to have something to reflect back on, especially when there are all these wonderful memories with people we love.
